More time in squat position
Description
A "squat" is a strength training exercise that targets the leg and glute muscles. To perform a squat, one begins standing with the feet shoulder-width apart and the arms extended forward or placed at the waist. From this position, the body is lowered by bending the knees and keeping the torso straight, until the legs are parallel to the floor or until the glutes touch the heels, and then the body is lifted back up to the starting position.
Squats are a very effective exercise for developing leg and glute strength and endurance, as well as improving hip and knee stability. Additionally, they can be performed with different variations, such as with free weights, with feet closer together or further apart, or on a single leg, to increase intensity and target different muscle groups. Squats are a popular exercise in strength training and are an excellent choice for improving athletic performance and overall health.
